I make Artisanal Herbal Hair Color from scratch using 100% pure plant pigments of henna (lawsonia inermis), cassia (obovata and auriculata), and indigo (indigofera tinctoria). Using these pure, unadulterated, organic plant powders combined with food grade fruit acids and distilled water, I create beautiful bespoke hair dyes from light blonde to dark brown. Unlike chemical color, plant pigments have no lightening effect on hair, which makes them an excellent choice for gray blending, darkening, glossing, and color enhancement. Plant dyes stain the cuticle layer of the hair, without affecting the hair’s natural pigments that live in the cortex of the hair. Regrowth of plant dyed hair is more subtle than chemical color because the natural color of the hair is preserved (never going brassy), and allowing for more time between color treatments.
