More About Organic Hair Colour Systems
The Organic Stylist is proud to provide a healthier salon experience for scent-sensitive and health-oriented people. I provide services and use products that are less-toxic, organic and eco-friendly; and therefore healthier for you, me, and the environment.
There are a number of hair color brands on the market today that claim to be “organic” and “all natural.” Since the day I started my business I’ve been searching for a hair color brand that lives up to these claims. Unfortunately the cosmetic industry is not regulated, so when it comes to hair color, these claims tend to be only partially true. Permanent, oxidative hair color always has some synthetic and chemical compounds - deemed necessary by the manufacturers - to provide professionals with the color control that clients have come to expect of professional services.
Over the years, I have tried a number of different ammonia-free hair coloring products that claim to be “organic” or “all natural.” I have always come back to Organic Colour Systems. Organic Colour Systems was one of the first ammonia-free hair color brands to replace many of the synthetic ingredients in their hair color with plant-based ingredients. Organic Colour Systems has a very low amount of PPDs in their oxidative hair color and is rich in certified organic ingredients, amino acids and nutrients to keep your hair healthy, strong and shiny during and after coloring. This color line is soft and translucent which gives it a very natural look. It reveals warm undertones on dark hair and is challenging for resistant gray coverage, so I also stock a cooler, more opaque color line for very dark browns and color correction services.
While I’m confident that I'm using the least toxic professional products available, I never stop searching for new advances in hair color chemistry. For clients with known chemical sensitivities, I provide PPD-free and PTD-free hair color as well as HAIRPRINT (a 100% non-toxic pigment restoration system for dark hair). If you have had a reaction to hair color in the past, it is imperative that you schedule a color predisposition test 48-hrs prior to your next hair color appointment.
Because I sincerely want to do what’s best for you and your lifestyle, I also have strategies to help you gracefully transition out of artificial color completely. You may book a consultation with me to discuss all your options.
